About

Sunny Koch grew from a family of artists in the Northern California Santa Cruz Mountains. In her studio amongst the trees is where she began to explore Collage and Assemblage, after years studying art at Cabrillo College, and Fashion Design at FIDM. Sunny's collage is rooted in the natural environment that surrounds and inspires her. All collages are made with tangible objects, by hand and scissor.

Sunny began her career as an illustrator in 2000, creating collages for editorial and advertising commissions. She was awarded for an editorial illustration entitled 'Discovering My Roots', by both American Illustration 21 and Blue Cube Arts. Has taught collage and assemblage classes in the family studio, where she has also displayed her work for the Santa Cruz Open Studio Tour. Sunny was featured in the May/June 2004 issue of Somerset Studio Magazine. In March 2008, her first book was published.
